PCP’s Weekly Dose: Sucker Punch Review

29 Mar

Entertainment news with the Pop Culture Podcast crew for the week of March 20 to 27. This week the crew continues our “Who Died This Week” segment by discussing the passing of Elizabeth Taylor and offer a retraction of a prematurely delivered story last week . We also talk Superman casting, Akira-rape, Spider-Man Inc, the Captain America trailer and much more. We also have the Audie’s review of Zack Snyder’s Sucker Punch that leads to some good debate amongst the crew. More importantly, we have the triumphant return of PCP’s long lost brother Josiah as he returns from his pilgrimage spreading the PCP gospel. This week, make sure to check out PCP 020: Pro Wrestling. It’ll be a slobber-knocker!

PCP Episode 019: Adult Swim (Rise and Fall)

24 Mar

All kids out of the pool! In all seriousness, kids shouldn’t listen to us but, you give us numbers so go ahead. We really nerd out this time as we, the PCP crew, reminisce about the rise an fall of William’s Street. To be honest, we were having such a good time that we barely touch on the fall. We walk down memory lane as me note the transition from Toonami to what made Adult Swim must-see tv for us: Anime, irreverent humor and the bumps. We talk Cowboy Bebop, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Gundam, Harvey Birdman and pretty much everything else to some degree. We had a particularly good time just remembering shows tonight and we hope you all do too.

PCP Episode 018: USA Network

16 Mar

What do you get when you put the MacGuyver of doctors from the Hamptons, a blacklisted covert-ops agent in Miami, and the next great interracial bromance from Santa Barbara in one place? Probably a coke party at Charlie Sheen’s place. But this time, you get the zany characters of the Pop Culture Podcast discussing the original programming of the USA Network. We go in to discuss In Plain Sight, Burn Notice, Psych and Royal Pains with our obligatory side comments and rants.

PCP’s Weekly Dose: Pokemon Black & White

14 Mar

Entertainment news with the Pop Culture Podcast crew for the week of March 6-13. Apologies for the low audio quality but, it does improve after about 3 minutes so you won’t miss our review of Pokemon Black & White. Also, we’d like to wish our road dog, Josiah, a happy birthday. We miss you buddy and look forward to having you back.

PCP Episode 017: Pokémon

PCP Episode 016: Metal Gear Solid

2 Mar

Incoming Transmission… The agents of P.C.P. debrief on Solid Snake’s mission to end Foxhound going from day one (the original Metal Gear…er Snake Eater) up to current (Guns of the Patriots) status. In attendance: “Pissing Willow” aka Shegaw, “Laughing Octopus” aka Marcus, “Crying Bear” aka Audie and “Howling Shepherd” aka Avery. Unfortunately, it seems we’d been compromised about halfway through by the likes of Psycho Mantis (trying plugging your headphones into another port). The real story is that the hard drive with the “clean” episode was stolen (that’s the ‘hood for ya). We apologize for the audio quality but, not for the good time you’ll have.
